Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing fire retardant foam composite resin particles that can be used to produce a foam molded article having a desired fire retardancy. The fire retardant foam composite resin particles for solving the problem comprise at least a fire retardant and a base-material resin including a polyolefin-based resin and a polystyrene-based resin, and are characterized in that the fire retardant includes a halogen fire retardant and a phosphorus-containing non-halogen fire retardant, the contained amounts of the halogen fire retardant and the non-halogen fire retardant are 1.5-7 parts by mass and 1-5 parts by mass, respectively, with respect to 100 parts by mass of the base-material resin, and the non-halogen fire retardant is contained in the fire retardant foam composite resin particles such that a surface layer and a central portion of each of the fire retardant foam composite resin particles have an absorbance ratio in the following ranges: (i) the absorbance ratio (D960/D1600) of the surface layer is 1.5 or more, and (ii) the absorbance ratio (D960/D1600) of the central portion is 0.6 or less (the absorbance ratio is the ratio of an absorbance (D960) at 960 cm-
1 and an absorbance (D1600) at 1600 cm-
1 as obtained from infrared absorption spectra measured by ATR infrared spectroscopy, where D960 represents the peak absorbance of a functional group containing phosphorus, and D1600 represents the peak absorbance of polystyrene).
