Abstract:
A fabric for fireproof clothing which is a fireproof fabric comprising flame-retardant fibers, the fabric being a woven fabric, knitted fabric, or nonwoven fabric comprising 70-100 mass% polyetherimide fibers and 0-30 mass% other flame-retardant fibers. The fireproof fabric has the following flame resistance, heat resistance, and laundering resistance in accordance with ISO 11613-1999, which is international performance standards for fireproof clothing. (1) Flame resistance: free from hole formation, dripping, and melting; after flame time/glow time, 2 seconds or less. (2) Heat resistance: free from firing, separation, dripping, and melting; degree of shrinkage, 5% or less. (3) Laundering resistance: degree of shrinkage, 3% or less. Provided is fireproof clothing formed using the fireproof fabric as an inner liner. Thus, a fabric for fireproof clothing which has high light resistance, high heat resistance, satisfactory dyeability, and a reduced production cost and fireproof clothing including the fabric are provided.
