Abstract:
The firewood boiler of the present invention has a transverse two-pass structure in which a lower firewood combustion chamber and an upper heat exchanger are linked in a vertical association. In the heat exchanger, the thermal efficiency is improved by means of heat-exchange fins formed on either the inner circumferential surface or the outer circumferential surface thereof and by a zig-zag plate formed on the inside thereof. Also, the heat exchanger is formed in such a way as to be inclined downwards towards a fluid discharge port provided in an exhaust smoke flue. An extractor fan is provided in the exhaust smoke flue such that the combustion gas exhausted from the heat exchanger is smoothly exhausted. Meanwhile, the thermal efficiency of the firewood boiler can be improved by adjusting the gas exhaust capacity or the gas intake capacity by adjusting the blowing capacity of the extractor fan or the amount of opening of an air-adjusting damper in accordance with the water temperature.
