Title:
FIRING AID
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/113773
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention relates to a firing aid for the production of ceramic components. The firing aid serves to introduce the ceramic components into the kiln and hold them there during the firing process, and to subsequently be able to remove them from the kiln again. The known firing aids are massive ceramic blocks which have openings into which the ceramic products to be fired are inserted. The known firing aids have the disadvantage of being comparatively heavy and, in order to be able to transmit the thermal radiation of the kiln to the goods to be fired, they must be heated to a correspondingly high temperature. Furthermore, they can be formed only with relatively great expenditure. The invention avoids this in that firing aids are used which, at least in sections, have a wall which is permeable to thermal radiation, in particular a wall or a component support which is composed of a ceramic fibrous material.
