Description:
TITLE FISH FOOD DISPENSER FOR FISHING DESCRIPTION Field of the invention The present invention relates to the field of fishing, and more precisely it relates to a dispenser of fish food for fishing, that can be used by the amateurs of sea, river, lake sport fishing, in particular with fishing rod.

Description of the prior art Sportsmen fond of fishing often use the method of distributing fish food, sometimes defined with other regional words such as for example"chum". In other words, a certain amount of fish food is spread in the area where the hook is hidden by the bait, and such food is often the same food of the bait and can bee freely eaten by the fish.

This"fish food"has the double function of attracting a big amount of fish in the same zone where the bait is present and of setting a so called"greed impulse" that induces the fish to eat as quickly as possible and without becoming suspicious.

The"greed impulse"produces the effect that the fish ends quickly all the food distributed, comprised the bait, and then the probability of successful bites arises.

Moreover, further launches of the hook with bait into the zone where the fish are still under the"greed impulse" have still high probability of successful bites.

Fish feeding is done easily when fishermen are not far from the hook, such as for example when fishing with fixed fishing rod or from a boat. On the other hand, when the bait is launched far away, distributing with precision fish food is rather troublesome.

For example, a concentrated launch of the fish food out from the zone where the bait is present is

counterproductive because that attracts the fish far from the bait same. Instead, a launch of the fish food too much dispersed, for example fan-like, even if that covers the zone where the bait is present, causes an excessive dilution of the fish food without setting the"greed impulse".

One of the techniques presently most used is that of launching the fish food with a sling, before or after the launch of the hook with the bait. However, the consistency of the fish food is not much, and therefore it splits during the launch. Even when either soluble wrappers are used or more dense fish food is made by means of a paste, the problem always remains of precision of the launch, because the zone of presence of the bait and that where the fish food falls must coincide.

Normally, moreover, the fish food has a composition equal or similar to the bait, and this is also the case of fishing with grubs or worms, which are loose pieces.

In case of fishing in presence of streams, both in rivers and in the sea, the problem of feeding with precision remains. In fact, the fish feeding must be done upstream enough with respect to the bait so that the stream brings the fish food through the zone of presence of the bait same. A fish feeding perpendicular to the bait would bring the fish food to move far from the bait. Therefore, the possibility of error rise, since also the speed of the stream must be calculated, as well as its direction and the deepness of the bait responsive to the stream.

Moreover, since fishermen have to launch with precision the fish food, and must correct the position of the bait to follow the fish food, they loose concentration for the actual fishing actions.

Summary of the invention It is object of the present invention to provide a dispenser of fish food for fishing with launch fishing rod

that has not the drawback of the existing techniques and allows fish feeding with precision at every launch increasing the probability of success for every launch.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a dispenser of fish food for fishing that does not complicate the operations to carry out when fishing.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a dispenser of fish food for fishing that is easy to use even at every launch when fishing.

These and other objects are achieved by the dispenser of fish food according to the present invention, whose characteristic is that it comprises a body suitable for being launched by means of a fishing rod and having a chamber inside suitable for being filled of fish food, means being provided for keeping closed the chamber during the launch and for causing it to open automatically after that the body has fallen into the water.

The body, advantageously, is hollow axially, in order to allow the passage of a fishing line, whereby before and after the launch the body can slide on the line between two predetermined positions, defined by stops located on the fishing line.

Preferably, the body has a floating portion, in order to float above the hook at the end of the launch. In this case the body has a weight slidably connected to the floating portion. Once fallen into water the weight moves down away from the floating portion thus opening automatically the chamber.

In a preferred embodiment, the body is formed by a portion with function of floating plug and with an axial hole wherein a elongated slider slides with an axial recess. From the floating plug a wall extends to it co- axial that defines a chamber containing the fish food open to an end. The slider comprises a stem, which crosses both

the floating plug and the chamber, and that ends with a head suitable for blocking like a stopper the chamber, to prevent the fish food from escaping during the launch. The stem, opposite to the enlarged portion, has an enlarged end that beats against the floating plug.

The head is made of a heavy material so that in the water the sliding of the slider and the opening the chamber is made easier. The weight is advantageously such that it substantially balances the floating action of the floating plug.

The shape of the wall that defines the chamber, of the floating plug and of the head is preferably symmetrical axially in order to be aerodynamic during the launch.

The floating plug can be of cork and similar material, or can be made of a seal tight hollow body and containing air.

-figure 10 shows the closed position of the device during the launch ; -figure 11 shows the moment of fall into the water of the device of figure 5 ; -figure 12 shows the release of the fish food after that the chamber of the device of figure 5 has open in the water.

Description of a preferred embodiment With reference to figures 1 and 2, a dispenser of fish food for fishing comprises a body 1 having inside a chamber 2 suitable for being filled of fish food.

The body 1 is formed by a portion 3 with function of floating plug and with an axial hole 4 wherein an elongated slider 5 slides with an axial recess 6. From floating plug 3 a wall extends 7 to it co-axial that defines chamber 2 containing the fish food, open at an end 2a (figure 2).

Open end 2a of chamber 2 is closed by head 10 of slider 5 that has a stem 12 that crosses both floating plug 3 and chamber 2 and has inside the through axial recess 6 in which the fishing line slides. Stem 12 opposite to head 10 has an enlarged end 13 that can beat on the floating plug 3.

Head 10 is made of heavy material, for example lead, so that in the water (figure 2 and 4) the weight moves down away from the floating portion and opens automatically chamber 2 that otherwise is closed by head 10 like a stopper (figure 1 and 3).

Floating plug 3 can be made of a seal tight hollow body and containing air, like in figures 1 and 2. It can be of cork and similar material. In any case, the weight of head 10 substantially balances the floating action of floating plug 3.

With reference now to figure 5, for fishing and fish feeding at the same time, a user 26 can arrange the

dispenser 1 according to the invention slidable on a fishing line 20 between two stops 21, one on the side of the hook 22 and one opposite to the hook, for example respectively a ball of lead and a cork floating plug. Other known systems may be used to obtain the same result of blocking the dispenser between two fixed points of the fishing line. The distance X between the stops 21 and 22 is chosen in order to be long some tenth of centimetres. Even a few centimetres beyond the overall length of the dispenser 1 open in the position of figure 5 may be enough.

Then, the fish food 23, made for example of grubs, is put into chamber 2 of the body 1 by means of spoon like tool 24 or in another desired way.

As shown in figure 6, before launching fishermen 20 brings the head 10 against beat 21 in order to stop chamber 2, simply pulling line 20 so that slider 5 moves completely into body 1.

Then, fishing line 20 (figure 7) is kept hanging by gravity so that, owing to the weight same, dispenser 1 rests on beat 21 and a conventional launch by means of a fishing rod 30, to which the end of fishing line 20 is tied, can be done (figures 8 and 9).

During the launch, owing to acceleration, both in the phase of figure 8 and in that of figure 9, head 10 remains always to stop chamber 2 without any possibility for the fish food to escape. Moreover, during the launch (figure 10) the air same pushes against opening the dispenser.

The same occurs during the fall of the dispenser into the water (figure 11) where, however, lead 21, that is used as a beat, by gravity causes the line 20 to slide in dispenser 1, which floats in the water for presence of floating plug 3. In this situation chamber 2 opens by the sliding of slider 5 that is drawn towards below by the weight of head 10, thus causing the fall of fish food 23

over hook 25 on which the bait is present, with the above described effects.
