Title:
FISHING MATERIALS EXCELLENT IN PREVENTION OF CLINGING OF ORGANISM AND PROCESSES FOR THEIR PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1988/008246
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Fishing materials represented by ropes, nets, buoys, ship, etc. which are excellent in prevention of clinging of living organisms such as algae, barnacles, etc. and processes for their production are disclosed. These materials are characterized by being covered with many raised fibers composed of fine fibers of up to 5 deniers, particularly preferably extremely fine fibers of up to 1.5 deniers. The raised fine fibers provide a surface structure which can prevent living organisms such as algae or barnacles from clinging thereto. They can be produced according to various processes depending upon the shape, for example, by providing a cloth having the above-described raised fibers on base materials through proper means such as sticking with a paste; by producing yarns having the above-described raised fibers and binding a proper number of them to form a rope; or by forming the rope into a net.
