Description:
FITTING WEDGE The subject of the invention is a wedge for laying down floors, especially laminate flooring and veneered flooring, finished parquet and floor boards and for leveling pieces of furniture and other pieces of equipment which are placed on the floor and for leveling other elements in building industry.

Until now in laying down parquet, laminates or hardwood panels and floor boards generally standard wedges have been used. Most often they were made of hard grades of wood or from plastics. They were supposed to insure keeping proper distance between the wall and the first row and further rows of parquet, laminates or hardwood panels and floor boards, giving them also a certain support. The same wedges have been used to level pieces of furniture and other elements placed on the floor.

From Polish patent application No. P-341487 the expansion spacer is known which is characterized in that it has the form of a disc whose side surface has a shape outline of a wheel and/or oval and/or ellipse and/or polygon and/or their partial forms and/or their combinations, which has on one side a face wall with"a" lift not bigger than 20° and") 3" inclination not bigger than 20° and on the other side has a rear wall, whereas the front face wall is provided with a gripping part, whose outline has beneficially the shape of wheel and/or oval and/or ellipse and/or polygon and/or their combinations."cz"lift and"ß"inclination are along their total length tangential to the adequate straight lines.

The fitting wedge is provided with working teeth shaped as triangles, with arms of various lengths and various angles of arm inclination. According to the invention the wedge is characterized by that it has working surface located on one and/or on two opposite surfaces where one surface is provided with teeth and smooth areas whereas the working surface and smooth areas are present alternately. Working surfaces and smooth areas have beneficially boundaries in the form of straight lines or shaped lines. The teeth are provided beneficially, at least on one side, with a leading part shaped as a triangle.

The subject of the invention is shown in examples of execution in drawing, where Fig. 1 shows in axonometric view the fitting wedge provided with working surface shaped as trapezoid, Fig. 2-shows in axonometric view the fitting wedge provided with working surface shaped as rectangle, Fig. 3-shows in axonometric view the fitting wedge provided with working surface shaped as bands, Fig. 4 shows in axonometric view two fitting wedges of known standard design provided with teeth on whole working surface, Fig. 5-shows in axonometric view in mesh two fitting wedges of design as in the invention provided on one working surface with alternate surfaces provided with teeth and smooth surfaces, Fig. 6-shows a side view two wedges in mesh, each of them being provided with two working surfaces, Fig. 7-shows a side view wedges in mesh, each of them being provided with one working surface, Fig. 8-shows in axonometric view a corner of the room flooring where wedges are placed in their initial position, Fig. 9-shows wedges ready for use viewed from the side of narrower front faces, Fig. 10-shows in view from the side of narrower front faces the wedges in mesh, Fig. 11-shows in axonometric view a corner of the room flooring where wedges are placed in position of sliding motion where toothed surface of one wedge moves along the smooth surface of the other wedge, Fig. 12-shows in front view a corner of the room flooring where wedges are placed in position of sliding motion of toothed surface of one wedge along the smooth surface of the other wedge, Fig. 13-shows in axonometric view a corner of the room flooring where wedges are placed in mesh position, Fig. 14- shows a front view of a corner of the room flooring with wedges in mesh, Fig. 15- shows wedges in mesh in front view and Fig. 16-shows wedges in mesh viewed from side.

As shown in the drawing the fitting wedge is provided with working teeth 1 appearing on the working surface 2 which is found on one and/or two opposite surfaces 3 and/or 4. Working surface 2 and smooth areas 5 appear alternately and have beneficially boundaries in the form of straight lines 6 or shaped lines 7.

Wedges have narrow part 8 and wide part 9, whereas teeth are provided with beneficially at least on one side with a leading part 10 shaped as a triangle.

The use of fitting wedges means placing two wedges 1 against each other with their narrower front faces 8 against each other with their working surfaces 3 in the gap between the wall and plank flooring or between a piece of furniture and the floor as in Fig. 6 and then by lifting and/or shift of one wedge in such a way that the toothed surfaces 2 are found opposite smooth surfaces 5 and sliding one or two wedges against each other till the moment their blocking (engagement) Fig. 7 and exerting pressure on wall and planks surfaces or floor and furniture Fig. 8 and then by crosswise shifting one or two wedges along the teeth 2 so that the teeth 2 of one wedge gets engaged with the teeth of the second 2 wedge Fig. 9.
