Abstract:
The present invention concerns a fitting for mounting a stretcher to a floatframe. The fitting functions to unite the stretcher and the floatframe and can be mounted according to the “do-it-yourself”-principle. The purposes of the fitting are to keep the stretcher fastened relative to the floatframe, and to maintain the correct mutual spacing between the stretcher and the floatframe. Fitting for mounting a floatframe to a stretcher, is comprised by: a first contacting area (7) for fastening to the back of a stretcher, a spacing section (8) connected substantially perpendicularly with the first contacting area, a second contacting area (9) connected with the spacing section (8) and meant for resting against the floatframe’s (1) retracted front face, and a third contacting area (10) connected with the second contacting area (9) and meant for resting against the floatframe’s (1) inner circumference (4).

Claims:

Patent claims (1 & Z) : 1. Fitting for mounting a floatframe to a stretcher, characterized in comprising: - a first contacting area (7) for fastening to the back of a stretcher, - a spacing section (8) connected substantially perpendicularly with the first contacting area, - a second contacting area (9) connected with the spacing section (8) and meant for resting against the floatframe's (1) retracted front face, and - a third contacting area (10) connected with the second contacting area (9) and meant for resting against the floatframe's (1) inner circumference (4).
2. Fitting according to claim 1, characterized by comprising a fourth contacting area (11) meant for resting against the floatframe's (1) back adjacent said inner circumference.
Description:

Title : Fittings to accomplish a stretcher to a floatframe Description : The present invention concerns a fitting for mounting a stretcher to a floatframe. The fitting functions to unite the stretcher and the floatframe and can be mounted according to the"do-it-yourself"-principle-so an unskilled user can assemble the frame without no other tools, than a screwdriver.

The purposes of the fitting are to keep the stretcher fastened relative to the floatframe, and to maintain the correct mutual spacing between the stretcher and the floatframe.

The floatframe must be located around the painting carried by the stretcher, so the painting seems to be "floating"inside the floatframe. Preferably is aimed an equal spacing of 5-7 mm from the sides of the stretcher to the adjacent sides of the floatframe.

Prior art framing methods consists e. g. of utilizing pieces of surplus frame material of exactly same size to be fastened with screws at strategic correct positions to acquire: the correct spacing between stretcher and floatframe ; and a stable mounting of the stretcher to the floatframe. This is a difficult process, requiring much accuracy.

Also wedges of plastic material are used, but they can harm both frame and the painting.

All technically demanding methods requiring a skilled person to perform a nicely appearing mounting.

The purpose of the invention is to avoid the abovementioned drawbacks related to mounting of floatframes and to propose a kit of fittings for a"do-it- yourself"-user to simplify the technique of the process of floatframe-mounting to make everyone able to perform such process.

Preferably the material for the fitting is a plastics.

The fitting is so designed, that it by mounting defines the correct mutual spacing between a stretcher and the corresponding floatframe.

This is acquired by the fitting comprising a first contacting area to be fastened against the back of the stretcher, preferably by means of a couple of screws. Substantially perpendicularly to the first contacting area is a spacing section with connection to a second contacting area meant to rest against the floatframe's retracted front face. Further, a third contacting area connected with the second contacting area is established to rest against the floatframe's inner circumference.

The fitting can be formed to further comprise a fourth contacting area meant for contact with the floatframe's back adjacent the inner circumference.

Thus, the fourth contacting area is positioned preferably perpendicular to the extreme part of the fitting's third contacting area.

So, the second, the third, and the fourth contacting areas together define an approximately U-formed groove functioning as a kind of clamp/clip for the inner, rear part of the floatframe's material adjacent the inner circumference and of a suited thickness.

The fittings are easy and cheap to manufacture, and they are first of all easy to use, so the inventive fitting makes it easy for the user to mount a floatframe to a stretcher.

A practical,"do-it-yourself"-solution.

Description of embodiment: The inventive fitting (3, fig. 5) consists, as shown in fig. 1, of a first contacting area (7) connected with a spacing section (8) substantially perpendicular thereto.

At the spacing section's (8) other end is situated a second contacting surface (9) for resting against the floatframe's retracted front face. The second contacting area (9) is

extending parallel to the first (7). A third contacting area (10) connected with the second (9), is to rest against a floatframe's inner circumference (4, fig. 5).

The contacting area (9) helps to stabilize the construction as such and secures the correct mutual spacing between the floatframe and the stretcher (1,2, respectively, fig.

5).

Figs. la and lb illustrate two examples of embodiments of the inventive solution.

Figs. 2a and 2b are showing perspective views of the fig.

1 embodiments, respectively.

Fig. 3a/b show other embodiments, wherein the fitting is provided with a fourth contacting area (11).

Here, the three contacting areas (9,10, 11) together form a U-formed groove to clip around the floatframe's inner circumference (4), making a fastening means as e. g. a screw (6) unnecessary.

Figs. 3a and 3b illustrate how embodiments according to the above can be used.

Figs. 4a and 4b show perspective views of the respective embodiments including a U-formed groove.

From fig. 5 inventive fittings can be seen mounted to frames.
