Abstract:
Disclosed is a fixing device capable of restraining shrinkage, of a fixing belt, caused by abnormal heating. The fixing device comprises: a rotatable fixing belt; a pushing member disposed at the inner peripheral side of the fixing belt; a heating source for heating the fixing belt; a pressing roller disposed at the outer peripheral side of the fixing belt so as to press the fixing belt between the pressing roller and the pushing member, thereby forming a fixing nip part; a power supply cut-off member for sensing the state of the fixing belt according to heating so as to cut-off power supply to the heating source; and a radiating plate disposed to be spaced from the outer peripheral side of the fixing belt, and coming in contact with the fixing belt according to the expansion, caused by heating, of the fixing belt so as to emit heat of the fixing belt to the outside.
