Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[22] FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a fixing device for shoelaces according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view illustrating the fixing device for shoelaces according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 3 is a vertical- sectional view illustrating the fixing device for shoelaces according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a plan view illustrating the fixing device for shoelaces according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[23] The fixing device 1 has a main body 2 having penetration holes 3 through which a shoelace 10 passes. Each of a pair of pressing parts 4 is vertically installed at the front and back end portions of the main body 2, respectively. The pressing parts 4 face each other and are inclined toward each other by the structure in which a lower portion of the pressing part 4 is relatively thick and an upper portion of the pressing part 4 is relatively thin. A knot fixing part 5 (space between the pressing parts 4) is provided between the pressing parts 4 by the pressing parts 4, so that a knot 11 is disposed and fixed therein. The pressing parts 4 have inclining inward faces 6 on respective top ends thereof in order to allow a shoelace 10 or the knot 11 to enter the knot- fixing part 5. Each of the inclining inward faces 6 has a hooking protrusion 7 which protrudes inward from an inner edge thereof, and a knot-hooking jaw 8 which extends to the bottom of the main body 2 and is formed under the hooking protrusion 7.
[24] Each of the hooking protrusions 7 is provided at a side of the inclining inward face
6, departing from the center of left and right sides of the fixing device 1, and the hooking protrusions 7 are provided to the pressing parts 4 which face each other and are arranged in a diagonal direction. The hooking protrusions 7 are designed in a manner such that they fix a first side remainder and a second side remainder 12 of a shoelace, extending from a knot 10 fixed in the knot-fixing part 5 in left and right sides of the fixing device, respectively. The knot-hooking jaws 8 face each other and protrude toward the center of the knot-fixing part 5. Each of the knot-hooking jaws 8 has a perpendicular face 8a which is perpendicular to the pressing part 4, and an inclining face 8b which is inclined toward the left or right edge portion of the pressing part 4. The pair of knot-hooking jaws 8 is arranged at locations which overlap if they are rotated by 180 degrees with respect to the center of the fixing device 1 and are disposed at the front and the back of the knot-fixing part 5. The knot-hooking jaws 8 allow the knot 11 of the shoelace 10, which is fixed in the knot- fixing part 5, to be caught by the perpendicular face 8a, so that the knot 11 is prevented from becoming biased to the left side or the right side of the fixing device 1.
[25] The unexplained reference symbol 20 in the drawings denotes a shoe, and reference
symbol 21 denotes coupling holes for a shoelace, which are formed on the upper of the shoe 20.
[26] Hereinafter, the operation of the fixing device 1 according to the present invention will be described. With reference to FIG. 5, the shoelace 10 is inserted through the coupling holes 21 from the lowermost coupling holes to the uppermost coupling holes in a variety of manners, and respective ends of the shoelace 10 are inserted through the penetration holes 3 formed in left and right sides of the fixing device 1 and are pulled apart until taut. At this time, the fixing device 1 automatically becomes disposed at the upper and center portion of the upper 20 of the shoe. In this instance, if the first end and a second end of the shoelace 10, which pass out of the penetration holes, 3 are tied to cross each other, the crossed portion is automatically disposed at the center portion of the knot-fixing part 5 defined by the pair of pressing parts 4, by slipping along the inclining inward faces 6, and is pressed by the pressing parts 4, so that the shoelace is not loosened. Accordingly, it is possible to easily make a knot 11.
[27] Then, the shoelace is tied again, making a further knot 11 having a bow shape.
Thus, tying the shoelace is finished. When making the knot 11 having a bow shape, if the shoelace 10 is pulled, a portion of the shoelace is introduced into the knot- fixing part 5, slipping along the inclining inward face 6, and the knot 11 is formed. The knot 11, introduced into the knot- fixing part 5, is pressed by the pair of pressing parts 4, the thickness of which decreases from the lower portion to the upper portion thereof, so that it cannot be moved upward and be separated from the fixing device 1. That is, since the knot 11 is fixed at the center portion of the fixing device 1 by the knot- hooking jaws 8, it is not biased to the left or right side of the fixing device 1, and the first and second end portions 12 of the shoelace, which remain after making the knot 11, are fixed by the hooking protrusions 7 formed at upper end portions of the pressing parts 4. As a result, it is possible to easily tie the shoelace 10 with the knot 11, and the knot 11 does not easily come untied even if external force is applied to the shoe 20 during severe exercise.
[28] In a brief description of the operation of the fixing device for shoelaces, when tying the shoelace 10 with the knot 11 in the knot- fixing part 5 defined by the pair of pressing parts 4, the knot 11 is easily introduced into the knot-fixing part 5, slipping along the inclining inward face, the introduced knot 11 is not separated from the knot- fixing part 5 thanks to the pressing parts 4, the knot 11 is not biased to the left or right side of the fixing device 1 because the knot 11 in the knot-fixing part 5 is fixed by the knot-hooking jaws 8, and the knot 11 is not easily untied because the remainder of the shoelace 12, remaining after the shoelace is tied, is fixed in the knot-fixing part 5.
[29] The knot-hooking jaws 8 serve to prevent the knot 11 from being biased to the left or right side of the fixing device 1. Alternatively, it can be understood by considering
that the perpendicular face 8a of the knot-hooking jaw 8 is caught by the knot 11, so that the fixing device 1 cannot be moved in a left-to-right direction.
[30] In addition, the fixing device for shoelaces may be formed in a variety of colors or be transparent such that it can match the color of the shoe 20 or the shoelace 10. Further, the upper portions of the pressing parts 4 or the main body 2 can be modified in a variety of forms in order to improve the appearance of the shoe 20. Industrial Applicability
[31] As described above, the fixing device for shoelaces according to the present invention can achieve advantages in which it is possible to easily make a knot in a shoelace thanks to the inclining guide faces formed in upper end portions of the pressing parts, it is possible to prevent the knot fixed in the knot-fixing part from becoming separated from the fixing device thanks to the pressing parts, the thickness of which decreases from a lower portion to an upper portion, the remainder of the shoelace, which remains after tying the shoelace, is fixed by the hooking projections provided in upper end portions of the pressing parts so that the knot does not easily come untied, it is possible to prevent the knot from being biased to the left or right side of the fixing device by fixing the knot using the knot-hooking jaws formed in lower portions of the hooking projections, and it is possible to improve the appearance of the shoe or the shoelace because the fixing device can be realized in a variety of forms and colors.
