Abstract:

A method and a device for fixing a toner image formed on a recording medium by hot press. A toner image is formed of a toner containing a releasing agent on the surface of the recording medium. The recording medium passes through at least two fixing units arranged along its transfer direction sequentially. Letting the highest temperature on the surface of the recording medium when it passes through the first fixing unit be T1, the highest temperature on the surface of the recording medium when it passes through the second fixing unit be T2, the lowest temperature on the surface of the recording medium after it exits the first fixing unit and before it enters the second fixing unit be t, the flow tester softening temperature of the toner be Ts, and the outflow starting temperature be Tfb, the following expressions (1) and (2) are satisfied.
