Abstract:
This flame detection device comprises: an acquisition unit that acquires a plurality of target images in which an object under observation has been imaged in a time series; an extraction unit that extracts a flame candidate region from each of the target images acquired by the acquisition unit; and a determination unit that, using the degree to which the movement amount of a tracking point set in the flame candidate regions fluctuates with respect to the average value of the movement amount, calculates an index indicating a flame-like movement of an object shown in the flame candidate regions, and that determines whether or not a flame is shown in the flame candidate regions on the basis of the calculated index.
