Abstract:
A flame monitoring device (10) is provided with infrared light detection units (12a, 12b) which detect infrared light in a specific wavelength region from the infrared light irradiated from the flame (1); a Fourier transformation unit (22) for obtaining a variant frequency component of the infrared light signal intensity of the infrared light detected by the infrared light detection units (12a, 12b); and an assessment unit (24) which assesses the size of the flame, with respect to each variant frequency component obtained by the Fourier transformation unit (22), on the basis of frequency distribution of the frequency components having the spectral intensity exceeding a threshold value.
