Abstract:
The present invention provides: a flame-retardant and heat-insulating material that has a high heat insulation property enabling effective insulation of heat, a flame-retardant property for preventing ignition, and high strength and economic efficiency; and a method for manufacturing same. The flame-retardant and heat-insulating material comprises a sheet-shaped substrate with an oxygen index of 26 or more, and a heat-insulating layer stacked on at least one surface of the sheet-shaped substrate, the heat-insulating layer being composed of an inorganic heat-insulating filler and an inorganic binder. The inorganic heat-insulating filler may be at least one selected from among flake mica, glass balloons, fly ash balloons, silas balloons, perlite, silica xerogel, and silica aerogel. The inorganic binder may be at least one selected from among a silicone-based binder, a silica-based binder, an alumina-based binder, and a zirconia-silica-based binder.
