Abstract:
Provided is a flame-retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition which is capable of providing a molded body having high flame retardancy without using an antimony-based flame retardant assistant.
A flame-retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition according to the present invention contains 100 parts by mass of a polybutylene terephthalate resin, 5-100 parts by mass of a halogen-based flame retardant and 10-40 parts by mass of calcium borate. It is preferable that the halogen-based flame retardant is composed of at least one resin selected from the group consisting of brominated polybenzyl (meth)acrylate resins and bromine-containing epoxy resins. It is also preferable that the flame-retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition additionally contains a fibrous inorganic filler. The flame-retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition provides a molded body that has a flame retardancy of V-0 level according to UL-94 flammability test.
