Abstract:
This flash memory module comprises a flash memory which provides a storage region, a controller which controls writing of data to and reading of data from the storage region, and a buffer memory which temporarily stores data to be written to the storage region, wherein the controller selects either a first lossless compression method or a second lossless compression method on the basis of access performance to the flash memory, and determines that data should be compressed using the selected lossless compression method and written to the storage region, and wherein the first lossless compression method yields a lower compression ratio and a slower compression speed than the second lossless compression method.
