Abstract:
Disclosed is a flat clinch type stapler provided with a paper table (3) for placing paper-to-be-bound (P); a magazine (5) which is disposed opposite this paper table (3) and holds staples (N); a pressing blade (7) which presses out the staples (N) in the direction of the paper table (3), said staples (N) being held in this magazine (5); an anvil (13) which is used to bend piercing ends (N1) of the staples (N) by means of a surface-to-be-abutted-for-bending (9) and a surface-to-be-abutted-for-forming (11), said piercing ends (N1) having been pressed out by the pressing blade (7) and having pierced the paper-to-be-bound (P); and a surface-to-be-abutted switching mechanism (15) which, during bending operations by this anvil (13), causes the staples (N) to first engage with the surface-to-be-abutted-for-bending (9) and to subsequently engage with the surface-to-be-abutted-for-forming (11).
