Abstract:
Disclosed is a flat-knitting machine provided with a fabric pull-down device that can reduce the length and space required to rotationally drive rollers that open and close. The fabric pull-down device (21) is provided with a rotation mechanism (30) which can rotate a roller (3) clockwise and a roller (4) counterclockwise. A rotation transmission gear (32) on the side of the roller (4) is disposed such that the rotational axis thereof lies on the same line as the axis of a pivot shaft (26); thus, even when an opening/closing lever (25) pivots and changes position, a pivoting roller gear (34), which pivots together with the opening/closing lever (25) and moves along a motion trajectory (34a), stays meshed with a non-pivoting gear (31) which does not pivot. When the fabric pull-down device (21) is used, the rollers (3 and 4) rotate at constant speed in opposite directions. Since an Oldham coupling or the like is not necessary, the length and space required to rotationally drive the opening and closing rollers (3 and 4) can be reduced.
