Provided is a flexible cable capable of both preventing the illicit acquisition of data and reducing cross-talk. The flexible cable (6) has a multilayer structure comprising a data signal layer, which is provided with a data signal pattern (27) connected to data input/output junctions and a signal pattern (31) connected to junctions other than the data input/output junctions, and two disconnection detection signal layers, which cover the front and rear surfaces of the data signal layer and are provided with disconnection detection signal patterns that carry disconnection detection signals for detecting the disconnection of the pattern itself, wherein at least one of the two disconnection detection signal layers is provided with a shielding pattern at a position that does not overlap the disconnection detection signal pattern. The data signal pattern (27) is formed so as to be covered by the disconnection detection signal patterns in the two disconnection detection signal layers, and the signal pattern (31) is formed so that at least one part thereof does not overlap the disconnection detection signal pattern(s) of the disconnection detection signal layer(s) provided with the shielding pattern.
