Abstract:
Disclosed are a flexible DC-to-DC converter capable of multi-port DC power flow control and a control method thereof. The flexible DC-to-DC converter comprises a modular multi-level flexible DC-to-DC converter and a DC power flow controller built in the flexible DC-to-DC converter. The flexible DC-to-DC converter has the characteristics of modularization and flexible adjustment of the number of ports, and can implement bidirectional control of DC power flows in two or more lines, thereby solving the problem of insufficient freedom of DC power flow control in a meshed DC system. The DC power flow controller is directly built in the flexible DC-to-DC converter. In this way, energy balance can be achieved without an external power supply source and a high-voltage isolation device, and the power flow adjustment range is wide. By means of the control method proposed in the present invention, the balance of internal and external energy of the device can be controlled. The main loop parameter design method proposed in the present invention can provide a model selection basis for circuit elements for designing the device. The fault protection strategy and fault current active suppression method proposed in the present invention can improve reliability of the device under a complex and extreme working condition and assist a system in fault ride through.
