Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a flexible linear light-emitting object which, when used, can be flexibly bent along the contour of an object to be decorated or so as to conform to a linearly formed decorative character or decorative pattern and which is usable in a wide range of applications and is excellent in terms of light-emitting performance including luminance; and a process for producing the flexible linear light-emitting object.
[Solution] An optical-fiber-type linear light-emitting object which is constituted of a rod-shaped extrusion-molded article comprising a core that comprises an acrylic thermoplastic elastomer as the base and a cladding layer that comprises a fluororesin as the base and has been integrally formed around the core, the base of the core being a block copolymer of methyl methacrylate and butyl acrylate or of methyl acrylate and butyl acrylate, the block copolymer having a flexural modulus (ASTM D790) of 50-500 MPa.
