Abstract:
A flexible linkage system (20) for connecting an environmentally sealed apparatus (40) such as a parachute system to an external apparatus such as a parachute harness, said system comprising an internal link (10) and an external link (21). The internal link (10) is completely within the sealing packaging (40) and is directly attached to the sealed apparatus. The internal link has a looped end wherein the sealing packaging (40) is sealed around the internal link (10) and joined in the center of the loop. A portion of the sealing is cut away from the center of the loop, thereby forming a void (41) surrounded by the loop and the sealing material. The external link (21, 22) comprises a loop and a connecting hardware (24) anchored to the external link. The loop in the external link (21) is threaded through the center of the loop in the inner link (10) and then it is connected to the connecting hardware (24).
