Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing the type of call (SAT) to a prepaid calling center (14) maintaining an account for a prepaid subscriber placing the call within a wireless intelligent network (10) are presented. The type of call is passed as a parameter in a request to establish a phone call transmitted from a wireless intelligent network to the prepaid calling center. The prepaid calling center stores (106, 212) the indicator and sends an acknowledgment (108, 213) to the wireless intelligent network, directing the wireless intelligent network to complete or deny the requested call. Following establishment of the call (110, 214), a message (112, 215) indicating the start of the call is transmitted to the prepaid calling center. Based on the stored indicator, the prepaid calling center selects a rate structure to charge (213, 216) the cost of the call to the prepaid account. When the call is subsequently terminated, a call termination message (114, 217) is transmitted to the prepaid calling center.
