Abstract:
A flexible stick pack with reclosable front spout 1is made of heat sealable laminate or film. The said stick pack is three side seal having its two short ends sealed horizontally 2and a third single vertical seal 3on the back. The spout1 is sealed on the front part of the stick pack by means of ultrasonic technology for opening and re-closing the said stick pack. The present invention is used for holding products in a liquid, pastes and foams. The said invention enables the user to open the stick pack, take the required quantity of material and re-close it using the top lid of spout, thus the same pack can be used multiple times. Therefore the present invention is saves environment from the harmful effects of the single use plastics.

Claims

WE CLAIM

Claim 1. A flexible stick pack with reclosable front spout comprising:

Making of tube with heat sealable film or laminate material;

Sealing the tube at least on three sides;

Fixing the spout on the front side of the said stick pack; wherein two short ends of the tube are sealed horizontally; and wherein at least one long end of the said tube is sealed vertically at the back.

Claim2. Method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said stick pack has two sides such as front and back side.

Claim3. Method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said heat sealable film is single layer or multilayer.

Claim4. Method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said heat sealable films are made of thermoplastics, selected from polyesters, polyolefins such as polypropylenes or polyethylenes, polyamides, polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, etc., or cellulose-containing materials such as cellophane and new family of plastics such as PLA, PBA and all recycled laminates.

Claim5. Method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said packaging pack is used for holding products in powder, granite or liquid, pastes or foams forms.

TITLE OF THE INVENTION

A FLEXIBLE STICK POUCH WITH RECLOSABLE FRONT SPOUT

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to packaging. Specifically, the present invention relates to stick pack. More particularly the present invention relates to stick pack with re-closable spout. Particularly the present invention relates to stick pack with front spout packaging.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Single-use plastic as a form of plastic can be used only once and then has to be thrown away or recycled. These are used for packaging that includes items intended for single use only. Single use plastic includes products made of plastic such as polythene bags, plastic drinking bottles, plastic bottle caps, food wrappers, plastic sachets, plastic wrappers, straws, stirrers and Styrofoam cups or plates, cotton-bud sticks, cutlery, plates, sticks for balloons, cups, food, beverage containers made of polystyrene and products made of oxo -degradable plastic, etc.

Plastic is harmful to the environment as it is non-biodegradable and takes many years to disintegrate. Single-use plastic slowly and gradually breaks down into smaller pieces of plastic known as micro plastics, hence the time span for decomposition of plastic bags is more i. e. it requires hundreds of years, thus resulting into contamination of soil and water. India alone generates 9.46 million tonnes of plastic waste every year, around 43% of which comprises single -use plastic.

Another drawback of the single use plastic is its impact on wildlife. The noxious chemicals used to produce plastic gets transmitted to animal tissue, and finally, enter the human food chain. Birds usually confuse shreds of plastic bags for food and end up eating the toxic debris. Fish consume thousands of tons of plastic in a year, ultimately transferring it up the food chain to marine animals.

On an average, plastic kills an estimated one million sea birds every year and affects around 700 species which get infected by ingesting plastics. India alone generates 9.46 million tonnes of plastic waste every year, around 43% of which comprises single -use plastic. Around 40% of plastic waste remains uncollected. So there is need for a reclosable stick pack packaging pack with spout for reusing it again and to save environment from the harmful effects of the single use plastic.

Stick pack is a type of flexible pack suitable for packaging of food cosmetics, industrial and pharma products. A stick pack is defined by its shape: it looks like a stick or a tube, having a long, slender configuration. Stick packs are narrow which makes it easy to pour the products in the package as required.

A known US patent application (US20100224522A1) discloses the construction of sachet three seal sachet, or stick pack, made from a laminate sheet, the sachet having a fin seal along a longitudinal axis and transverse fin seals at each end. The laminate sheet is tough enough to resist tearing unless a notch is provided with which to initiate a tear. A fold line extends across a corner of the sachet and through the fin seal, a notch extending through the sachet in a transverse seal area and perpendicular to the fold line such that when the sachet is folded a cut is revealed that allows the user to initiate a tear across the pack opening up a pouring spout for dispensing the medicinal product.

Another known US patent application (US20150144518A1) discloses a stick pack pack package comprising a foil sheet having side edges and first and second edges extending transversely between the side edges, a longitudinal sealing joint extending between the side edges to form the foil sheet into a tube, wherein the tube has a front side and a back side, and wherein the longitudinal sealing joint is on the back side, first and second transverse sealing joints sealing the first and second edges, respectively, a weakened pattern which extends over/across at least a portion of the longitudinal sealing joint, the back side of the tube, and the front side of the tube, wherein the weakened pattern enables the package to be opened along the pattern and wherein the weakened pattern includes nonlinear portions on the front side, back side, or front and back sides of the tube. Further it has an opening aid identifying a fold line that is (a) horizontal to the first and second edges or (b) at a 30° to 60° angle relative to the first and second edges, a weakened pattern at least partially exposed upon folding the package along the fold line, and wherein the package is opened by tearing along the weakened pattern.

Even another known US patent application (20170166380) discloses a stick pack includes: a top sealed portion with a top edge, a horizontal notch parallel with the top edge and passing through the stick pack, and a horizontal perforation line parallel with the top edge, a bottom edge portion with an elongated sealed portion proximate to a central compartment of the stick pack, a longitudinal seal extending from the top sealed edge to the bottom edge, and a spout formed at least partially in the top sealed portion but not extending past the top sealed edge, where the stick pack is configured to be folded along its longitudinal axis to fold the notch, where only when the notch is folded can a user easily tear the top sealed edge along the horizontal perforation line to expose the spout.

The above mentioned prior arts define the design of a single use stick pack which has tear point to tear and open, but those cannot be reused, but the present invention provides a solution for reusing the stickpack by providing a spout in the front part of the stickpack.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The main object of the present invention is to provide a flexible stick pack with reclosable front spout.

It is one object of the present invention, wherein the said pack is made of heat sealable laminate or film forms into a tube.

It is another object of the present invention, wherein the said stick pack comprises three side seal having its two short ends sealed horizontally and a third single vertical seal on the back.

It is another object of the present invention, wherein the said stick pack has two sides such as front and back side. It is even another object of the present invention, wherein the said front spout is sealed on the stick pack for opening and re-closing the said stick pack.

It is one another object of the present invention, wherein the front spout enables the user to open the stick pack and take the required quantity of material, re -close it and use it multiple times.

It is another object of the present invention, wherein the flexible pack with reclosable front spout has film-like laminate material, which is single layer or multilayer, e.g., two layers, three layers, four layers, or more.

It is another object of the present invention, wherein the said heat sealable films are suitably made of thermoplastics, such as, polyesters, polyolefins such as polypropylenes or polyethylenes, polyamides, polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, etc., or cellulose -containing materials such as cellophane.

It is another object of the present invention, wherein the said packaging pack is used for holding products in a powder, granite or liquid, pastes and foams.

It is another object of the present invention, wherein the said sealing is carried out through ultrasonic technology in which the layer of the plastic pack and spout attach to each other and thus it gets fixed on the surface of the reclosable stick pack packaging pack.

SUMMARY

The main aspect of the present invention is to provide a flexible stick pack with reclosable front spout comprising, making of tube with heat sealable film or laminate material, sealing the tube at least on three sides and fixing the spout on the front side of the said stick pack.

It is one aspect of the present invention, wherein two short ends of the tube are sealed horizontally.

It is one aspect of the present invention, where in at least one long end of the said tube is sealed vertically at the back.

It is one another aspect of the present invention, wherein the said stick pack has two sides such as front and back side. It is another aspect of the present invention; wherein the said heat sealable film is atleast single layer or multilayer.

It is yet another aspect of the present invention, wherein the said heat sealable films are made of thermoplastics, selected from polyesters, polyolefins such as polypropylenes or polyethylenes, polyamides, polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, etc., or cellulose-containing materials such as cellophane and any new family of plastics such as PLA, PBA and all recycled laminates.

It is even another aspect of the present invention, wherein the said packaging pack is used for holding products in liquid, pastes or foams etc. forms.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

Figure 1 illustrates the front view of reclosable stick pack packaging pack with front spout, according to the present invention.

DETAIFED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS

With reference to figure 1 , the present invention provides a method for making a flexible stick pack with re-closable front spout 1. The said pack is made of heat sealable laminate or film that forms into a tube, wherein the said the film is a single layer or multilayer, e.g., two layers, three layers, four layers, or more. The said heat sealable films are made of thermoplastics selected from polyesters, polyolefins such as polypropylenes or polyethylenes, polyamides, polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, etc., or cellulose-containing materials such as cellophane and new family of plastics such as PLA, PBA and all recycled laminates.

In the said method of the present invention, wherein the said stick pack comprises three side seal having its two short ends sealed horizontally2 and a third single vertical seal 3on the back, further the said stick pack has two sides such as front and back side. The present invention comprises a specific form of “vertical form, fill and seal” (VFFS) packing.

The main embodiment of the present invention is spout lthat is fixed on the front side of the stick pack using fixatives. The said spout has two parts such as bottom open and a top removable lid. The front spout 1 enables the user to open the stick pack and take the required quantity of material, re-close it and use it multiple times.

In the said method sealing of the sides is performed by means of machine sealing of spout is done by ultrasonic technology for fixing the spout which reduces both costs and product waste, thus provides strong product protection. In the said technology the layer of the plastic pack and spout gets attach to each other through ultrasonic vibrations. Ultrasonic technology which give compatibility of sealing with any kind of plastic material.

Stick packs with front spouts of the present invention are easy for opening and provides just the right amount of product inside each stick. The said packaging pack is used for holding products in a liquid, pastes and foams.

ADVANTAGES

The re-closable stick pack with front spout of the present invention prevents immediate contamination of soil and water through its unique feature of having small product holding capacity (in size) and having reclosable/reopenable concept, hence it’s a perfect solution against single use plastic.

The present invention of stick pack with front spout packaging provides a reclosable stick pack which is easy for consumers to use.
