Title:
FLOATING TYPE DISK BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/111457
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A floating type disk brake used for braking a vehicle, for example, a motorcycle, comprising a braking rotor (A) having an annular rotor part (11) and a plurality of projected pieces (13A) formed at the inner peripheral edge part of the rotor part by projecting them to the radial inner side. The projected pieces are abutted on the outer peripheral edge parts of a hub (2A), and the braking rotor is connected to the hub through connection pins (3). Recessed parts (13b) are formed in at least either of the rotor part and the projected pieces in a boundary area between the rotor part and the projected pieces. The variation of thermal distribution at the rotor part in braking can be reduced by suppressing that heat dissipation in the area of the rotor part where the projected pieces are formed is locally performed rapidly in braking by braking operation.
