Abstract:
Provided are: a flocculant which enables an efficient and high-level flocculation treatment of water to be processed containing organic matter and suspended matter, especially water to be processed having a high pH and a high alkalinity without requiring pH adjustment or a large amount of an inorganic flocculant; and a water treatment method. A flocculant which contains a polymer compound having a weak cationic amino group and a nonionic polymer compound. The nonionic polymer compound is composed of one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of a compound having an alkylene oxide group, a compound having an alcoholic hydroxyl group, and a compound (excluding an acrylamide polymer) that has a carbonyl group and a structure wherein a carbon atom in the carbonyl group is bonded to a nitrogen atom.
