The present application provides a flow control method, comprising: a first device sends a first data packet to a second device in a first sending mode; the first device determines a network congestion state; the first device sends a second data packet to the second device in a second sending mode, the second sending mode being a sending mode determined for the first device according to the network congestion mode, and the second data packet being a data packet to be sent behind the first data packet. The first device determines the current network congestion state in real time, and adjusts the sending mode of the second device for sending the data packet in real time according to the current network congestion state, so that the first device improves the network throughput and reduces the network delay, and can reduce the packet loss probability caused by network congestion.
