A fluid bearing device increased in loading capacity against moment load. A cylindrical sleeve part (8) is fixed to the inner periphery of a housing (7) opened at both ends, and a shaft member (2) is inserted into the inner periphery of the sleeve part (8). Seal parts (9) and (10) are fixed to the shaft member (2) on the axial both sides of the sleeve part (8), and seal spaces (S1) and (S2) having the oil levels of a lubricating oil are formed between the outer peripheral surfaces (9a) and (10a) of these both seal parts (9) and (10) and the inner peripheral surface (7a) of the housing (7). A radial bearing space is formed between the inner peripheral surface (8a) of the sleeve part (8) and the outer peripheral surface (2a) of the shaft member (2), and thrust bearing spaces are formed between the end faces (9b) and (10b) of the seal parts (9) and (10) and the end faces (8b) and (8c) of the sleeve part (8) facing the end faces of the seal parts. Thus, the shaft member (2) can be supported in the state of non-contact with the other parts in the radial and thrust directions by the dynamic pressure action of the lubricating oil produced in the bearing spaces.
