A fluid detection device, wherein one or a plurality of branch flow passages (3) having opening end parts (2) facing the upstream side or downstream side of a main flow passage (1) allowing fluid to flow therein and allowing a part of the fluid flowing near the inner wall surface of the main flow passage to flow therein are provided near the inner wall surface of the main flow passage (1), the flow of the fluid flowing through the branch flow passages is detected by using a thermal type flow sensor (4), desirably, the flow of the fluid is measured with a high accuracy by installing a plurality of opening end parts (2a) facing the upstream side of the main flow passage or a plurality of opening end parts (2b) facing the downstream side thereof at equal intervals along the flow passage cross section thereof with respect to the axis of the main flow passage.
