Abstract:

A fluid dynamic bearing device (1) comprises: a bearing sleeve (8) affixed to the inner periphery of a housing (7); a shaft member (2) inserted in a removable manner into the inner periphery of the bearing sleeve (8); an annular member (9) having an inner peripheral surface (9a) which forms a gap (Ga) in the radial direction between the inner peripheral surface (9a) and the outer peripheral surface (2a) of the shaft member (2); and radial bearing sections (R1, R2) and a thrust bearing section (T), which support the shaft member (2). At least the radial bearing gap (Gr) of the radial bearing sections (R1, R2) and a bottom gap (Gb) which receives the thrust bearing section (T) are filled with lubricating oil (11). The inner space of the housing (7) has an air gap section. If the width of the radial bearing gap (Gr) is d1 and the width of the gap (Ga) in the radial direction is d2, the fluid bearing device (1) satisfies the relationship of 30d1 ≤ d2 ≤ 250d1.
