Abstract:
In the present invention, with respect to the manufacture of a fluid dynamic bearing sleeve 8 formed from a sintered metal and configured such that radial dynamic pressure generating parts are disposed at an inner peripheral surface 8a thereof and an axial through-hole 11 opening on one end face 8b and the other end face 8c is formed, forming of the through-hole 11 is carried out after the radial dynamic pressure generating parts have been formed by the inner peripheral surface 8a of the sintered body 108 being subjected to sizing. Furthermore, it is preferable for the through-hole 11 to be formed by firing a laser L toward the one end face 8b or the other end face 8c of the sintered body 108.
