Abstract:
Provided is a fluid filled vibration damping device capable of decreasing the sound of hitting produced by contact of a movable member, and of stably achieving a damping effect over a broad vibration frequency range. An elastic buffer (76a, 76b) supported by a partition member (36) is provided in a housing void (64), and at least one of the inner wall surface of the housing cavity (64) on the side of a pressure receiving chamber (66) and the inner wall surface of the housing cavity (64) on the side of the equilibrium chamber (68) is covered by the elastic buffer (76a). Windows (82, 84) are formed penetrating through portions corresponding to the communication holes (44, 60) in the elastic buffer (76a, 76b). The communication holes (44, 60) are narrowed by the windows (82, 84) in the elastic buffer (76a, 76b), and the ratio (a/l) of the opening area (a) of the windows (82, 84) to the penetration length (l) is less than the ratio (A/L) of the opening area (A) of the communication holes (44, 60) to the penetration length (L).
