Abstract:

A conventional air battery uses a circulated electrolyte, so has problems such as a gradual change in electrolyte composition accompanied by unstable output. The composition of an electrolyte (4) supplied to a battery container (8) can be made constant, and a stable output can be obtained by means of the invention being a fluid injection-type air battery (C1) provided with: an electrode structure (A) provided with an air electrode (1) and a metal negative electrode (2); the battery container (8), that is capable of holding the electrode structure (A) and the electrolyte (4); a supply tank (5) that supplies the electrolyte (4) to the battery container (8); a discharge tank (6) for the electrolyte (4) discharged from the battery container (8); and pumps (11A, 11B) serving as an electrolyte circulation mechanism that circulates the electrolyte (4) on a path from the supply tank (5) to the discharge tank (6), via the battery container (8).
