Abstract:
A fluid measurement instrument employing laser-induced fluorescence method measures
the characteristics of fluid based on fluorescence or phosphorescence generated
by irradiating fluid, mixed with light emitting molecules emitting fluorescence
or phosphorescence upon irradiation with a laser beam, with a laser beam, and
comprises an irradiator (2) for irradiating a measurement field (1), where fluid
as a measurement object flows, with a plurality of dot-like continuous laser
beams, a photography device (3) for photographing fluorescence or phosphorescence generated
in the measurement field through irradiation with a laser beam, and a device (4)
for calculating the velocity of the fluid based on the length of a ray of fluorescent
or phosphorescent light thus photographed, the flow direction of the fluid based
on the direction of the ray of light, and the temperature of the fluid or the concentration
of the light emitting molecules based on the intensity of fluorescence or phosphorescence
at the starting point of the ray of light, respectively. An inexpensive and simple
measurement instrument which can measure the characteristics of fluid even
in a micro measurement field is thereby provided.
