Abstract:
There is provided a new application of a PIV system in a practical level for detecting flow of a fluid to be measured located far away. The fluid measurement system includes a long focus optical system (3) in a CCD camera (2) and image processing means (43) for comparing particle images picked up at two different times and analyzing them. Moreover, the system includes a high pass filter for leaving a high-frequency component of a predetermined frequency or above from a luminance signal of the image, extracts a turbulent flow structure generated in the fluid to be measured, and acquires/images the turbulent flow structure. Thus, it is possible to analyze a flow field of a fluid to be measured which is located in a place to which access is difficult.
