The purpose of the invention is to provide a fluid metering device capable of simply and accurately determining various types of fluids and metering fluid characteristics such fluid flow velocity even in cases of reduced penetration of ultrasonic signals through fluid in a pipe. This fluid metering device is configured to transmit ultrasonic waves from a single ultrasonic probe (14) disposed on an outer wall (101) of a pipe to fluid in the pipe (100) and receive the ultrasonic waves, and to meter the fluid characteristics on the basis of the propagation time of the ultrasonic waves that have propagated through the fluid. The ultrasonic probe (14) has a wedge (12) provided with an ultrasonic transducer (11) on a surface thereof horizontal to the contact surface with the pipe (100) such that the ultrasonic waves enter the fluid perpendicularly. The wedge (12) has, in a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction of the pipe (100), a transducer surface (Sα) on which the ultrasonic transducer (11) is disposed, and a pipe contact surface (Sβ) horizontal to the transducer surface (Sα) and disposed in contact with the pipe outer wall (101). The length (L2) of the pipe contact surface (Sβ) in the cross section perpendicular to the axial direction is shorter than the length (L1) of the transducer surface (Sα) in the cross section perpendicular to the axial direction.
