Abstract:
A fluid sterilization device 10 comprising: a straight pipe 12 that partitions a treatment flow path 28; a light source 40 that irradiates ultraviolet light towards the treatment flow path 28, in the axial direction of the straight pipe 12; and a light receiving section 46 that receives some of the ultraviolet light output from the light source 40. The straight pipe 12 comprises fluorine-based resin and has a recessed section 18 formed in part of an outer wall surface 17 of the straight pipe 12 so as to have partially provided therein a thin section 19 having a thickness t2 in the radial direction from an inner wall surface 16 of the straight pipe 12 that is less than the thickness t1 of other sections. The light receiving section 46 is arranged in the recessed section 18 so as to receive ultraviolet light that has passed through the thin section 19.
