Abstract:
A fluid transmission device reduced in size. The fluid transmission device has a
torus with a pump impeller (24) and a turbine runner (25), a turbine hub (44) engaged with
an input shaft (30) of a speed changing device and holding the turbine runner (25),
and a lockup device (51) disengageably placed and mechanically transmitting rotation,
transmitted from a drive source, to the turbine hub (44). The torus and the lockup
device (51) are axially overlapped on each other. Because of this overlap, the
axial dimension of the fluid transmission device can be reduced, which in turn
reduces the size of the fluid transmission device.
