Abstract:
A fluorescence detecting device receives fluorescences emitted from n kinds of objects to be measured in wavelength bands FLk (k is an integer from 1 to n) set so that the fluorescence intensity of the fluorescence emitted from an object k to be measured (k is an integer from 1 to n) is higher than the fluorescence intensities of the fluorescences emitted from the other objects to be measured and acquires fluorescence signals corresponding to the respective wavelength bands FLk. Each of the fluorescence signals is subjected to frequency-down conversion by mixing the fluorescence signal with a modulating signal for intensity-modulating a laser beam Lk (k=1) corresponding to at least one of the wavelength bands FLk, and thereby fluorescence data including the phase delay and the intensity amplitude of the fluorescence signal is produced. Correction of the fluorescence data is made, the phase delay is calculated, and the fluorescence relaxation time is calculated using the phase delay.
