Abstract:
[Problem] To observe fluorescence with more appropriate sensitivity without causing a reduction in image quality. [Solution] Provided is a fluorescence observation device (1) which comprises: an excitation light source (3) for emitting excitation light that is irradiated onto a subject (A); a fluorescence image acquisition unit (21) which comprises an imaging element (18) for acquiring fluorescence images (G2, G3) by imaging fluorescence that is produced by the subject (A) due to irradiation of the excitation light emitted from the excitation light source (3); and a sensitivity adjustment unit (22) for, on the basis of brightness information of the fluorescence image (G2) acquired by the imaging element (18) of the fluorescence image acquisition unit (21), adjusting a binning pixel number (B) and/or exposure time for the imaging element (18) in such a way that the SN ratio in the fluorescence image (G2) is equal to or greater than a threshold value.
