Abstract:
A fluorescent body according to one embodiment of the present invention is a europium-activated alkaline earth chlorapatite fluorescent body having a compositional makeup represented by composition formula: (M1-xEux)5(PO4)3Cl (where M is an alkaline earth element that includes at least Sr and Ba, and x represents an atomic ratio that satisfies 0.04≤x≤0.2). In this fluorescent body, the absorptivity to light of a wavelength of 400 nm is 90% or higher, and the absorptivity to light of a wavelength of 650 nm is 2% or lower.
