Title:
FLUORESCENT SUBSTANCE, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND LUMINESCENT DEVICE USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/098141
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A fluorescent substance which has excellent temperature characteristics and can be excited by light in the region from near ultraviolet to short-wavelength visible light to emit light of a yellow to red color; a process for producing the fluorescent substance; and a luminescent device using the fluorescent substance. The fluorescent substance contains M, which is one or more Group-2 elements selected from Ca, Sr, and Ba, further contains aluminum, silicon, oxygen, and nitrogen, and has been activated with europium. The fluorescent substance, when examined with a CuKα line, has an X-ray diffraction pattern in which when the intensity of the diffraction peak appearing at a Bragg angle in the range of 17.9º to 18.5º is taken as 100%, the pattern has a diffraction peak having a relative intensity of 150% to 310% in a Bragg angle range of 24.5º to 25.1º and has a diffraction peak having a relative intensity of 320% to 550% in a Bragg angle range of 34.8º to 35.4º.
