Abstract:
 A fluorinated alkyl silane compound represented by the general formula CF3(CF2)n(CH2CF2)a(CF2CF2)b(CH2)3SiR3-dXd [I] (n: an integer of 0-5; a: 1 or 2; c: an integer of 0-3; R: a C1-3 alkoxy group, a fluorinated alkoxy group, or an alkenyl group; X: a halogen; d: an integer of 0-3). The fluorinated alkyl silane compound is produced by reacting, in the present of a transition metal catalyst, a poly fluoro alkyl aryl compound represented by the general formula CF3(CF2)n(CH2CF2)a(CF2CF2)bCH2CH=CH2 [II] (where n, a and b are as defined above) with an alkoxy silane, or with a chlorosilane and then reacting the product with a lower alcohol or a metal alkenyl. The production method enables free radical iodine derived from a source compound to be removed before the hydrosilylation reaction without the use of a metal reagent having a large environmental burden, and provides a fluorinated alkyl silane compound having good handling properties.
