Abstract:

A fluorinated urethane compound represented by the general formula I[-NHC(=O)O-X¹-Rf¹-R¹]_m[-NHC(=O)O-(X²(-CH₂Cl)O)_p-R²]_n (1) [wherein I is a group formed by removing an isocyanate group from a polyisocyanate compound; X¹ is a divalent organic residue obtained by eliminating an active atom and active hydrogen from a chain transfer agent; X² is a trivalent, C_2-5, linear or branched, aliphatic group; Rf¹ is a divalent group represented by the formula -(-CH₂-(Rf-A¹-)C(-B¹¹)-)_a-(-CH₂-(B²¹-)C(-B¹²)-)_b-(-CH₂-C(-Cl)(-B¹³)-)_c- and R¹ and R² each is hydrogen or C_1-20 alkyl]. The compound gives high water-and-oil repellency.
