A fluorine-containing adamantane derivative represented by general formula (I), which is useful in preparing a resin composition capable of providing a cured product that has a low refractive index and excellent heat resistance and mar resistance; resin compositions containing the same; and a process for the production of the fluorine-containing adamantane derivative. In general formula (I), Y is a hydroxyl group or the like; R1 to R6 are each independently a hydrogen atom or the like, with the proviso that at least one of R3 to R6 is a substituent represented by general formula (M): -A-B (wherein A is a straight-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon group or the like, and B is a fluoroalkyl-containing organic group); X is a polymerizable group such as (meth)acryloyloxy or a cyclic ether group; a is an integer of 1 to 4, b is an integer of 1 to 15, and c is 0 or an integer of 1 to 14, with the proviso that a, b and c satisfy the relationship: a + b + c = 16; d is 0 or an integer of 1 to 5; and e is an integer of 1 to 5.
