Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a production method capable producing, at high selectivity, a fluoroolefin represented by general formula (1): CX1X2=CX3X4 (wherein X1, X2, X3, and X4 are identical or different, and each represent a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom). Specifically, the present disclosure provides a method for producing the fluoroolefin represented by general formula (1), the method including a step for bringing a fluorocarbon represented by general formula (2): CX1X2FCX3X4H (wherein X1, X2, X3, and X4 are as defined above) into contact with a base to remove hydrogen fluoride therefrom. Said step is performed in a liquid phase and at a temperature of at least –70°C and less than 120°C.
