Abstract:
A flywheel regeneration system is provided with: a transmission that shifts the speed of rotation input from a power source of a vehicle and outputs the shifted rotation to a drive wheel; a flywheel; a power source clutch disposed between the power source and an input shaft of the transmission; and a flywheel clutch disposed between the flywheel and the input shaft of the transmission. During deceleration of the vehicle, the flywheel clutch is engaged to regenerate kinetic energy in the flywheel, and the flywheel energy is used for starting or accelerating the vehicle. During the regeneration using the flywheel, when a predetermined drive condition is satisfied, the engaging of the flywheel clutch is started after the transmission ratio of the transmission is up-shifted with the power source clutch in disengaged state.
