Abstract:
Disclosed is a foam band for packaging, said band comprising a foamed thermoplastic synthetic resin base material that is stretched and has embossing on the front and back surfaces thereof. The inside of said base material is foamed, while the surface has a non-foamed skin layer. This allows the foam band to be stretched as much as or more than conventional foam bands for packaging without causing a loss of stretchability and a decrease in productivity. It is also possible to reduce the degree of curvature of the disclosed foam band while keeping said foam band as lightweight as conventional foam bands for packaging. The disclosed foam band can also be made stiffer, and thus when used in an automatic packaging machine, the incidence of getting caught in an arch of the automatic packaging machine is low, making said foam band excellently suited for use in automatic packaging machines.
