Abstract:
Disclosed are: a foamed electric wire, in which closed cells are satisfactorily fine and which has excellent heat resistance; and others. The foamed electric wire comprises a conductive material and a foamed insulating layer that covers the conductive material, wherein the foamed insulating layer is produced by kneading a base resin comprising a high-melting-point propylene resin having a melting point of 150°C or higher with a master batch comprising a thermally degradable chemical foaming agent and a low-melting-point propylene resin having a melting point of 135°C or lower to melt the low-melting-point propylene resin and thermally decomposing the thermally degradable chemical foaming agent to cause the foaming of the mixture. In the foamed electric wire, the content ratio of the low-melting-point propylene resin in the entire resin composed of the high-melting-point propylene resin and the low-melting-point propylene resin is less than 20 mass%.
