Abstract:
A fog detection device using a coordinate system, and a method therefor are disclosed. The fog detection device using a coordinate system, of the present invention, comprises: a moving means having a camera unit mounted thereon for capturing an image of a set region of interest (ROI) in real time, while traveling on a corresponding road; a fog measurement unit for measuring the presence or absence of fog and a visual range in the ROI by extracting the image of the ROI from the image captured by the camera unit of the moving means; and a control server, which receives the presence or absence of the fog and the visual range detected by the fog measurement unit, so as to display same on electronic road signs of the corresponding road or a situation room or transmit same thereto as weather information, and thus the present invention can accurately provide, in real time, the presence or absence of fog and the visual range in the corresponding area as fog analysis information.
